- September 11, 2023 marks the anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the related hijacked plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Several presidents have proclaimed the 11th and surrounding dates as national days of prayer, service and remembrance.
